Collezione

The Malaspina Foundation’s collection of contemporary photography will be expanded each year with works by internationally renowned artists and young ones.

In addition to the works produced during the artist residencies, the collection will be enriched with a selection of photographs displayed in the Foundation’s exhibition spaces. The collection will reflect the multiple visions that photography is able to interpret, emphasizing the transformations and profound changes that have occurred in the landscape and redefining our understanding of reality.

All the works will be available to view by appointment and on the Foundation’s website.

The new group of works of the Malaspina Foundation’s collection includes Reclining Nude (2010) by Marcello Galvani (b. 1983, Italy), who studied drama at Amsterdam University and art at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, before completing a degree in photography at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam in 2010. Her work has been exhibited in many institutions, including the FOAM Photography Museum in Amsterdam, the Cobra Museum in Amstelveen, the MACRO Museum of Contemporary Art in Rome, the Second-Home Projects in Berlin and Proekt Fabrika in Moscow. In 2011 she was selected as one of the FOAM Talents. Her first book, 131 Variations, was published by Fw:Photography in 2015.
